Riding in South Africa

South Africa has some of the most incredible motorcycle riding available on the planet today. A network of high quality tarmac road stretches far and wide across the country.

Road Quality: The road surfaces are by and large maintained very well. The network of roads links the beautiful countryside to many cities, villages and hamlets along the way. We will be riding on quality tarmac roads 99% of the tour, occasionally we are required to leave the tarmac in order to enter or exit some sights or accommodation. If requested we can include some quality gravel roads!

Riding in South Africa: In South Africa we travel on the left side of the road and road signage follows international standards. Roads in South Africa are generally in superb condition and often better than roads in Europe and North America. We ride more often than note on good quality secondary roads which meander through our beautiful diverse scenery. In addition the roads in South Africa are not highly congested resulting in a quality riding experience for both rider and pillion alike.

Weather in South Africa:  South Africa is blessed with fantastic weather all year round enabling riding whenever you want to come out. The rainy season is during the summer months (October to March), in general however rain is isolated and comes in the form of isolated showers which do not set in for long periods. In the Western Cape (Cape Town) the summer months are generally dry while the winter months are when the area gets its rain (May to August). Our winter is amazing with much of the country experiencing incredibly mild balmy weather conducive to riding! Ask for the ideal tour when requesting a time of the year you would like to ride!

* Psst, a riding tip: Our winter and Spring months are better than much of Europe's summer
