Johannesburg - Northern Drakensburg - Lowveld - Kruger Park - Swaziland - Kwazulu Natal - Zululand - Golden Gate - Lesotho - Johannesburg
After a ride from through Swaziland its back into South Africa as you enter the Kingdom of the Zulu people, Zululand (KwaZulu Natal Province) travelling down to St Lucia Estuary. A full rest day in the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Greater St Lucia Wetlands National Park which will be the jewel in the centre of the tour and include a beach Braai (BBQ) and snorkeling in the rock-pools situated within the reserve. The Estuary is an unspoiled and extremely diverse ecosystem and a National Treasure.
Continuing through Zululand via the Eastern Coast you ride on to the spectacular Oribi Gorge a beautiful green Canyon which you will explore on foot for a few hours. Heading inland we then skirt the mighty Southern and Central Drakensburg (Dragons Mountains) with its quaint hamlets and villages on the Midlands Meander route before heading into the "Berg". Entering the breathtaking Golden Gate National Park with its unique sandstone crags you’ll spend two nights in the peaceful foothills of the Drakensburg mountains.These two night stay will be encapsulated by a ride into the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho right in to the heart of the Drakensburg or Maluti Mountains as it is called in Lesotho; heading up to Katse Dam. The dam is a massive engineering feat nestled in the "Berg".
