A couple of nights in the 'Fairest Cape' exploring the Peninsula. Heading out of Cape Town some of the best coastal riding on the planet will take you to Gansbaai, the bay with the highest concentration of 'Great White' Sharks anywhere on the planet; a cage dive to meet these huge predators will be a highlight. Then down to Cape Agulhas, the southern most point in Africa. Then exploring the incredibly diverse plant life and scenery on the world famous 'Garden Route' up to Storms River and a day spent relaxing in the Tsitsikamma Forest.
We head inland via Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown up to Hogsback for a night with the fairies, the area is believed to have inspired much of JRR Tolkien's 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy. The Wild Coast next as we ride past the birth place of Nelson Mandela down to Port St Johns a rustic 'bohemian' village with some amazing scenery and interesting people. Riding into KwaZulu Natal we will ride through and spend some time at the beautiful Oribi Gorge (actually a Canyon). Our ride then takes us up the south coast via Durban before riding into Zululand and the UNESCO World Heritage site of St Lucia Estuary (iSimangaliso National Park).
After a full rest day exploring this Big Game wetland we head into Swaziland via the beautifully rustic Swazi low-veld and up into the Swazi Mountains and the lovely Izulwini Valley nestled below 'execution rock'. Back into South Africa we enter Big 5 country and head straight to the rustic bush camp and a late afternoon Game Drive into the Kruger National Park. Our last few days will be spent exploring the scenic beauty and amazing roads in the Mpumalanga Northern Drakensburg and Lowveld regions (sights include Blyde River Canyon and God's Window). After approx. 6,000 km we will arrive back into Johannesburg and bid our farewells.
