The majestic beauty of ‘The Fairest Cape’ is showcased throughout this tour. Our first day will explore the Cape Peninsula (Ou Kaapse Weg, Simonstown, Cape Point, Chapman’s Peak, Hout Bay). Heading out of Cape Town we head through the Winelands past Stellenbosch and on to the stunning Whale Coast Road (R44). The ride will visit the Southern Most Point in Africa, Cape Agulhas where the Indian & Atlantic Oceans meet.

Moving on, the Overberg region makes for some dramatic wide open ‘big sky’ country with the vast windswept fields of the ‘wheat belt’ leading towards and over the imposing ‘Langeberg Mountains’ with Swellendam at its base. Within less than an hour the scenery changes dramatically as we head into the Little Karoo along Route 62, dry arid and home to thousands of rustic plant species and the unique Ostrich.

A night spent in a luxury tented game lodge, a lovely setting under the stars. What better way to end a day than sipping a sundowner on a big game drive, with stunning views gazing to the Swartberg Mountains. The next morning will offer a later start after a relaxing breakfast. The centerpiece of this day is, however, a breathtaking ride over the imposing and iconic Swartberg Pass (gravel), oft referred to as the Rubicon of South African Passes takes the rider over and into the expanse of the Great Karoo (as always asphalt only is an option). Overnighting in a tiny hamlet in an old period homestead offering authentic Karoo hospitality. The next day will see us venturing through the Swartberg mountains, once again, as we port through the breathtaking Meiringspoort Pass with the customary stop at the waterfall before heading out and along the Langkloof Valley, renowned for being the longest fruit growing region with much produce exported around the globe.

Storms River, on the edge of the Tsitsikamma Forest, will be our ‘rest day’. Here the ancient Forest and Storm River Mouth takes centre stage. This is the start of the famed ‘Garden Route’. A relaxed ride along the ‘Garden Route’ (Bloukrans, Nature’s Valley, Knysna, Wilderness…) with the day ending with yet more amazing mountain passes heading back into the Little Karoo with an overnight on Route 62. Then… more mountain passes as we ride via the Witzenberg Mountains & Swartland Plains returning to Cape Town.

A day or two extra spent exploring the Cape Town and surrounds (Table Mountain, Red Bus Tour, Two Oceans Aquarium, V&A Waterfront, White Sand Beaches, Wine Farm Tours, Hiking etc.) is highly recommended.
