The aptly named Southern Spear Tour is enjoyed over 12 days and approx. 4,000 km.
Visiting three Kingdom’s within Southern Africa. The landlocked countries of Lesotho and Swaziland along with South Africa’s very own Zulu Kingdom. Lesotho, the highest average altitude country on the planet known as ‘The Roof of Africa’ and the equally majestic mountain kingdom of Swaziland oft referred to as ‘Switzerland in Africa’ offer unequalled landscapes and riding opportunity. We will overnight on the Midlands Meander in KwaZulu Natal and visit the Nelson Mandela ‘capture site’.
After stunning riding through Southern KZN and an overnight above Oribi Gorge, we follow the lush sub-tropical coast to St Lucia for a two night rest day. A full day is spent viewing big game in ‘iSimangaliso Wetlands National Park’, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the ‘rest day’, heading North, we will overnight in Swaziland. After Swazilland we travel up to KrugerPark with a second big game drive into the Greater Kruger National Park offering an opportunity to seek out the Big5 and much more. The stunning roads around the lowveld (lowlands) of Mphumalanga will be enjoyed before heading back to Johannesburg.
Every day will offer up great riding and diversity of scenery, a ride on the ‘wild side’.
